Parks, parks, parks...
Recently I was hired by a local government to highlight some renovations of public amenities in the area. As usual, the project starts with gathering on-site reference and then working out what changes are going to be made to the actual ground. From there we build up, add all the cool new equipment, and press the render button. I love my team. Here are a couple I like best: Sundial Park Boys and Girls Club of America

Signals!
The county was having a hard time getting drivers to obey the new HAWK signal placed at an intersection with frequent accidents. It was heartbreaking when I went on location to do reference photography. There were small altars placed in every direction for children, mothers, and fathers hit and killed in this intersection. The importance of the project was very clear. Give it a watch and let me know if this helps you understand how this (admittedly) initially confusing signal

Drainage
I was tasked with creating a quality demonstration for a client in the infrastructure business, having had to deal with a clogged culvert recently I naturally wanted to share the dangers of a clogged pipe. So, I created this quick animation to show just how impactful even seemingly porous obstructions like tree branches can be. All in all this demo took 2 days from concept to shipped. A quick demo inspired by a recent frustration.

Anatomy of an Animation
Now that my team has completed a LOT of these animations based in the Greater Houston Area I thought it may be a good time to give a little breakdown of our process.

Acting Coach
She's a quick learner. I don't really have much experience as an acting coach, but it was a lot of fun to coach my eldest in her acting debut for this quick green screen demonstration. Thanks for your help!

Isometric Scenes
I loved the trend of these little isometric scenes that were going around a couple years ago. I was tasked with creating some stylized animations for a blockchain security company illustrating their product recently and decided to give the style a chance for myself. Simple Isometric Scene

Extra Extra
Our distracted driving (texting) simulator got a write up in a local paper! We developed this application in coordination with Texas A&M and State Farm Insurance. We wanted to create a memorable experience that leaves users with questions and answers about how much time it really takes to answer a simple text message.

This is a an application we created to allow Texas Children's Hospital to render out custom videos for prospective donors. The user would pick the type of signage they wanted to show the donor and then put their name or message onto the sign and render out a video showing what their name would look like on that section of the hospital. Before reaching out to us they were spending a lot of time to create single images in photoshop to show patrons. Our application was able to

...and so it begins
This is the required first post about how I super duper promise to post more in the future and on a schedule. I am very likely not going to do that though. I will write blog posts as I feel I find, see, or do something interesting enough to warrant a post. A brief history of Brandon Faughnan: I started my professional journey as a level designer on Tron: Evolution. Designing multiplayer levels of which I would later end up doing much of the art for since I was later moved t
